Artist Statement

Enter the time machine to take a trip through decolonial non-linear time.  Parkway Forest Time Machine is a collaborative, community-rooted arts project created in partnership with immigrant, Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee youth in Toronto’s Parkway Forest neighborhood. Through a series of workshops, participants shared stories, reflected on histories, and imagined decolonized futures—grounded in their lived experiences and cultural perspectives. These community narratives became the foundation for an immersive interactive installation. Using a Kinect camera, custom-coded systems in TouchDesigner, green screen footage, and AI animation, the installation transforms a dome into a responsive environment. As visitors move through the space, visuals and soundscapes shift dynamically based on motion and distance—creating a living, multi-sensory “timescape.”
